Dr. Hellmut Kirchner

Dr. Hellmut Kirchner has over 35 years of experience in Venture Capital and Private Equity, beginning in 1974 with a position as project manager at DEG (Deutsche Entwicklungsgesellschaft) in Cologne. After his work with Munich Re, Dr. Kirchner established the Venture Capital business at Matuschka Group in 1978. In 1983, Dr. Kirchner co-founded TVM Techno Venture Management, a leading German venture capital institution, and was Managing Director until 1989. He later co-founded VCM, a leading VC and Mezzanine Fund of Fund Organization. He co-led VCM until the merger with CAM. He has extensive experience in direct investments of emerging businesses, especially in the biotechnology and life science areas. He is also a member of various advisory and supervisory boards.

Dr. Kirchner studied law and business in Munich, Germany, and Lausanne, Switzerland, and has a PhD in Law.

 

Cathrin Pauly

Cathrin Pauly is a pharmacist and entrepreneur who started her business ASPIRAS Project Consulting in Pharma and Biotech in 2002. Prior to that she worked for 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry, both in family-owned and public companies, including Asta Medica, Rhône-Poulenc, Madaus and Schwarz Pharma. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including Nanobionet e.V. where she serves as an executive board member. In her company ASPIRAS, which operates European-wide, she provides pharmaceutical know-how, project management and financial expertise to German and international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

She is a trained pharmacist of Hamburg University and holds a MBA degree from Henley Management College/Brunel University, UK.

 

Dr. Wolfgang Riehle

Dr. Wolfgang Riehle provides 30 years of management expertise in the private industry, including positions as Vice President International Projects at the German Industry and Transport Research Institute, Bonn, and as Senior Manager at McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and Houston, USA. He was Divisional Director of Corporate Controlling and, later, of Corporate Strategy at Daimler-Benz AG. In 1997, he became CFO  of Wacker Siltronic AG. Since 2003, he was Managing Director and CFO of DAW Deutsche Amphibolin Werke. In 2005, he formed his company Riehle Management Consulting. Dr. Riehle serves on the Board of Directors of several renowned companies and is member of numerous organisations.

Dr. Riehle studied Business Administration, Economics and Political Sciences and Political Sciences at the University of Bonn, and holds a PhD in Economics.

 

Prof. Dr.  Andreas Wentzensen

Prof. Dr. Andreas Wentzensen is a renowned surgeon and reseacher who looks back at over 40 years of experience. After starting his career as a surgeon at hospitals in Ludwigshafen, Mannheim, and Biberach, he specialized in the field of trauma surgery beginning in 1977 at the BG Trauma Clinic Tuebingen. He later switched to the Labs for Experimental Surgery in Davos/Switzerland for research studies on joint injuries. From 1988 until his retirement in 2009, he was the Clinical Director of the BG Trauma Clinic Ludwigshafen. Additionally, between 1996 and 2000, he was Acting Director of the Trauma Clinic Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg. Prof. Wentzensen is President of the German Society for Trauma Surgery. He is editor and reviewer of medical journals, and also reviewer of the German Research Foundation.

Prof. Wentzensen studied medicine at the Universities of Göttingen, Hamburg, and Heidelberg. He is professor from the Universities of Tuebingen and Heidelberg.
