Catheter coatings

A camouflage for your implant

QiGelTM coatings

Medical coatings aim to functionalise the surface of a medical implant. When an artificial device is implanted or in longer-term contact to the human body, immunological response mechanisms start to attack the artifact. Chitosan coatings improve the biocompatibility of your device surfaces and influence cell adhesion and growth.

Medovent's goal is to develop a chitosan coating that increases the implant biocompatibility when exposed to blood and reduces the infection rate when compared to other surface coatings. The biodegradability of Medovent's coating can be adjusted to the intended use.
