Medovent's proprietary manufacturing technology for chitin and chitosan based biopolymers allows many applications. Our current product developments include multiple designs and functionalities. We also develop coatings for medical devices to improve biocompatibility and to incorporate drugs for controlled release.
Our laboratory and production facilities gained certification according to EN ISO 13485:2003. Medovent's current portfolio of prototypes for medical implants, sutures and wound care products can be adapted to specific customer requirements. We have gathered substantial pre-clinical testing experience to assess in vitro and in vivo functionality and safety by working closely with accredited contract service organisations for laboratory testing.

Our work is based on comprehensive risk assessments and extensive functionality, compatibility and mechanical tests to meet end user requirements and regulatory standards. This includes tests to determine chemical and physical properties as well as primary toxicological and biocompatibility tests.
Medovent continuously improves its quality management and quality assurance by routinely monitoring the development processes and production of its chitin and chitosan products. By co-operating closely with external GMP consultants and auditors we guarantee for documentation, data integrity and process control during prototyping and serial production.
